Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most frequently used types of crane in the construction industry. They are used to build everything from buildings and skyscrapers to roadways and freeway overpasses.
Cranes come in a wide variety of units, sizes and styles. These different units enable the operators and owners to perform many more functions in their business. Choosing the right type of crane is very vital for making sure that the material could be efficiently and safely moved to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to commence.
Truck Cranes
Usually, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are very useful for building locations where a crane is required in numerous different locations for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane is capable of being driven easily from one location to another.
In addition, the cranes are able to be transported to different construction locations on the road because they can drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane could handle. Thus, in order to fix this issue, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the bottom of the crane. These massive tracks are really similar to bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction locations.
