Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Eugene

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Eugene

Use a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also known as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized in order to move products and materials around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care to prevent loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Machine must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make certain that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet should be carefully stacked to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level located on the inside of the metal loop to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be centered in order to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet ahead of you as the momentum can cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
