Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names such as: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could function in smaller aisles. They are really handy pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
