Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable equipment which allow work to be done effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the machine and its components. System diagnostics are offered in various languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for enhanced performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The full-time positive traction and 4-wheel drive ability adds improved traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 only offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit comprise crab, coordinated, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machinery more agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features really make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to use on irregular terrain.
Though these units are bigger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable range of motion and reach. The design of the Z-boom gives the units outstanding over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously engineered mechanism used for both retracting and extending axles out and in of stowed position. When the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model machinery is just 2.46 meters. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
