Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources which could power forklifts. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
